This policy explains what the Bussmann Therapy KC website collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have. It covers the website only — not the confidentiality practices that apply once you become a client, which are handled separately in the practice’s clinical paperwork.
Information we collect
The website collects information in two ways.
Information you provide. If you use the contact form, we collect the name and email address you enter, your optional response to “What brings you in?”, and the message you write.
Information processed automatically. Like most websites, this site is delivered through hosting and content-delivery infrastructure that may automatically process basic technical information in order to serve pages and keep the site secure. That can include details such as a visitor’s IP address, browser type, and which pages were requested. This site does not use analytics or advertising services, and we do not keep our own log of this information.
How we use information
We use what you submit through the contact form for one purpose: to read your message and respond to it.
Technical information processed by the hosting infrastructure is used to deliver the website and protect it from abuse.
We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or add you to a mailing list.
Contact form and email
When you submit the contact form, your message is transmitted to the practice’s designated email inbox using Resend, a third-party email delivery service, which processes the message in order to deliver it. The email address you entered is set as the reply-to address so the practice can respond to you directly; it is not used as the sender.
Contact-form submissions are delivered as email. They are not intentionally stored in a database on this website. Once delivered, a message lives in the practice’s email inbox and with the email services involved, subject to their ordinary practices.
To limit automated abuse, the server briefly holds the IP address of a submission in memory for rate-limiting. This is not written to a database and is not retained.
Please avoid submitting highly sensitive or detailed clinical information through this form. A few sentences about what is bringing you in is enough to begin; anything more is better discussed in a first conversation. Submitting the form does not create a therapist–client relationship, and a message sent through it should not be treated as a confidential clinical communication.
Information sharing
We do not share the information you submit except as needed to run the website and respond to you:
- with Resend, to deliver your contact-form message as email;
- with the infrastructure that hosts and serves the website, as part of delivering it;
- if required by law, or where necessary to protect the safety of a person.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Data security
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and contact-form submissions are transmitted to Resend over an encrypted connection. The credential the website uses to send email is kept on the server and is not exposed to your browser.
No method of transmitting or holding information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. This website is not a patient portal, and it is not represented as a HIPAA-compliant channel for protected health information.
Your choices
Using the contact form is optional. You choose what to include in it, and the “What brings you in?” field can be left blank.
If you have contacted the practice and would like your message removed from its inbox afterward, you can ask, and it will be deleted.
Because the site sets no tracking cookies, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time. The version posted on this page is always the current one, and the date at the top reflects when it last changed. Meaningful changes will be reflected here.
